A sound portrait of a data center, created by utilizing various microphone types, including some which capture sounds generated from electromagnetic fields. The resulting composition is an aural mapping of a site typology central to our day-to-day digital activities but invisible to most of us due to the security they require. This work was presented at the Penn Museum in 2019 and then by the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Experimental Ethnography in 2020.
